THE GOLDEN RULE
TEXT: Luke 6:31
MEMORY VERSE: Matthew 22:39b “Thou shalt love thy neighhbour as thyself.”
TEACHER’S OBJECTIVE
To let the children know that they should do to others what they expect others to do to them.
CENTRAL TRUTH
What you sow is what you will reap.
INTRODUCTION
Ask a child questions on last week’s lesson.
Then teach the children the following song:-
Love, love, love, love;
Christian this is your call;
Love your neighbor as yourself,
For God loves us all!
PROGRESSION OF EVENTS
1. Every one expects good things to happen to them.
2. No one like others to punish or victimize them in any form.
3. For any one to receive such he/she should form the habit of doing good to others.
LIFE APPLICATION
You must stop backbiting, destroying others, fighting and beating others, stealing people’s
things, being dad, not showing respect to others. Because whatever you do would come back to you. So therefore as you would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
MESSAGE OF SALVATION
It is Jesus who can help us to love others as ourselves. Without Jesus one would be selfish, you would only love those who love you. But God wants us to go the extra mile to even love those who don’t love us. We must be like Jesus. Love your neighbour as yourself.
CONCLUSION
Whatever you do to others they will do back to you. If you are loving you would be loved
too. But if you are quarrelsome people would pick quarrels with you too.
CHALLENGE
From today do to others what you want others to do to out. For that is the GOLDEN RULE.
INVITATION
Give your life to Jesus today and He would help you to love others as yourself. You would be
able to keep the Golden Rule. John 1:12, 13. (Teacher to lead children in Salvation Prayer).
